Oakland Yacht Club - August 8-9 We had a great sail Saturday and Sunday - three P-15's: Jon Hunolt Jerry (last name?), and me (Bruce) and Kathryn Hood; then two P-19's: Greg and Steve Yu and Kent Crispin. On Saturday after we all had launched at Grand Street launch ramp we sailed up to the OYC, greeted by Maurice and Elena Lieberman in their beautiful Catalina 28 ( which we all promptly dubbed "The Potter Plus 2"). After getting sorted out on slips, etc. we opted to all go out on the Bay for the afternoon with the Liebermans on the "Plus 2," and had a great time sailing over to the San Francisco cityfront with some good winds of 16 kn gusting to 20. All of us enjoyed an exciting time sailing the Catalina cranked over on her lines - quite a change from working to keep your P-15 flat as possible! After returning to OYC for a fun dinner, then a good night's sleep, Sunday morning the sun came out on the estuary, breakfast at OYC, and the assembled Potter sailors had a day of sailing in first very light, then medium air, hauling out late that afternoon at Grand Street. All present were talking up going to Lake Tahoe the 21st. Lots of good Potter sailing in the months ahead, I have no doubt. Thanks to Maurice and Elena who still consider themselves Potter Sailors for extending so much hospitality. It was a splendid weekend.
