San Leandro is a great place to sail, the launching is free. And overnight slips are also free! The ramp is very nice, and there is a nearby park and two restaurants. Our favorite is called Horatio's, it's a bit pricey but with all the money you save on launching and slips it's a deal. The food, service and decor are first rate. After launching, if you are going to spend the night, sail to the Harbor Masters office to get a slip for the night. There is a deposit on the key to restrooms and showers.[Note: Jerry is right, as usual -- San Leandro is a great place to sail. To get to the ramp take Marina Blvd West off the Nimitz Freeway (880) and just keep going until you get there. Launch time 9:AM Don't miss this one!
