Greetings,

I thought this way too. I towed my P15 with a 1.8 liter Acura through VT
and MA. I thought the 5 spd would give me more control over the stress
being put on the engine. But I've read in more than a few places that the
automatic is better for the task. Not sure if they mean an automatic with a
towing package transmission cooler.

I'm hoping to tow my Precision 18 (1100 lbs empty) with a Subaru, but am
looking at other vehicles as well. The Toyota Previa is rated at 1000lbs
without the tow package and 3000 with. What a jump! I would be a bit
concerned.

I picked up a towing book from the International Marine (McGraw Hill, not
the Potter people) book club. Will check this tonight. Until then the
control freak in me craves the 5 spd.

John
