It is usually illegal to use any plastic container not specifically marked as
approved for gas. Some plastics pass enough vapor through to ignite. Others
get soft. I think, as mentioned by a previous writer, you will find that the
approved tanks don't leak gas and only have problems with leakage through the
air relief valve or cap if overfilled - a generous air space is important
particular if there will be large temperature changes (and of course if the
can will not always be still and vertical).
