HI Judy,
Thanks for the info. By the way, your website is great. My guess is
that over time I will duplicate all of improvements you have made to
Redwing.
Do you think it is worthwhile to have a rudder made as described by Eric
Johnson? Can it be further modified to be the spring-loaded kic up rudder
you sketched out?
Also, in your discussion of DM5 masts and Columbia Pacific masts you
note your conversation with Mr. Dwyer of Dwyer Mast Co. I was wondering if
you had had a similiar conversation with Columbia Pacific? I read the
disclaimer, but was still not clear if it is okay to have an adjustable
backstay. Jerry Barrilleaux in his outline for a backstay kit, recommends
not using an adjuster as it might cause a permanent bend. Wouldn't I want
it to be adjustable so as to tailor the rigging according to the conditions?
AND, lastly (for now) what about running backstays. I have read in a
couple of places about using them. For one, there was a May 1988 "letter to
the editor" from Ralph Saylor out of Lemon Grove, CA who wrote about
installing running stays on his Potter "Wavewalloper". Seems like a good
idea!!
    Thanks,

Greg Yu if you are listening thanks for that bushel of Potter articles.
Also Dennis, sorry about the lack of subject line in my last memo. One
of these days it will sink in.
