Here is a message about a bit of Potter Yachter history, with
some photos! Harry Gordon says the following:
These pix were taken at one of our rare races. The site would be the
Encinal Yacht Club. I must have missed that one because I don't see
#234 in any of the photos, although it's very possible I hadn't finished
the race yet when the photos were taken. Sorry, I can't identify the
Dear Potter Yachters, I enjoyed your website and thought you might
like some old photos I took while attending one of your regattas in the
Oakland Estuary back in the early 1980s. I "pottered" around but did not
participate in the organized races. I was a member of the Northern CA
Potter Yachters for a few years during that time. My Potter 15 was
#1321. I eventually sold the boat (to help buy a house) to an older
couple from the Bay Area, but I don't recall their names. I did most
of my sailing on Lake Cachuma and in the Pacific Ocean at Santa Barbara.
Both were beautiful places to sail...especially Santa Barbara. The only
downside was the salt water. It was a great boat and I miss her dearly.
I hope to someday own another Potter 15. I hope you enjoy the photos.
