I know that very few of you keep your boat in the water full time, but
maybe someone has experience with this problem anyway.
Every time I go to my boat, there are a whole bunch of new brown stains
on the deck. These stains, as far as I can tell, are from spiders
catching, consuming, and then "expelling" bugs. Each time I sail or
visit the boat, I painstakingly remove all the webs, kill as many as I
can find, then scrub the heck out of the deck. The problem is, each
time there are a few "new" stains that do NOT come out. At this rate,
in a few years, I will have one of those fancy tan (brown) decks that
some people pay extra for ;->
Does anyone have any suggestions on:
1. Keeping the spiders off MY boat (I cannot rid my neighbors boats of
their spiders)?
2. Cleaning those brown spots they have already left behind?
I searched the web, and alt.cruising, and the best suggestion found
there was to keep a tree frog on the boat! They did not say HOW they
kept their frogs, but I am pretty sure they didn't like being on a leash
<G>.
Any and all suggestions welcome.
