Thanks 'Solarfry'!

I should have included that there is a smaller metal, aluminum ?, backing
plate inside the transom; the IM sales staff seems unaware of this
feature, in all my contacts with them it has not been mentioned.

There are valid resons for HP preferences in tow operators; in one
instance, I observed, the truck arrived without any cleanup tools for
clearing debris from the road -HP Officers are neat people, they like to
leave clean wreck sites {:->)..

My only experience w/OBs has been with a 2hp Seagull(on an
EnterpriseII/Oday 16),a 9.9hp Mercury(on an Aquarius 23') and an Evinrude
33hp( 15" lapstrake Runabout/Small Whaler) all in the late 1960s/early
70s, and all trailed on the transoms.

I think anything less than a 4hp is going to prove unsatisfactory in
river/bay use. I`m willing to accept a little penalty for a 4stroke, but
less than 50# is preferred and 60# is an absolute maximum.

Haven`t heard any thing about the Tongue mount as yet, do hope to soon.

Thanks a bunch...
