I've got the short rig and the I think the sail area is the same. I've
never sailed the tall rig, but I wouldn't think there would be much
difference. If there was some difference, my guess would be that it would
be in light air. I am usually sailing beside larger boats with much taller
rigs, but they seem to do a little better in light air. The boom is longer
and I'm not sure see any disadvantages there?
