Hi Gang:

Linda and I usually say that it takes us about an hour to get under way
once we have arrived at the launch site. The sequence goes something
like this:

1. Arrive at boat launch.
2. Unplug trailer lights
3. Untie safety lines at bow of boat
4. Unhook stern strap
5. Remove outboard from back of truck and attach to motor bracket
6. Remove gas from back of truck and place in cockpit, attach hose to
motor.

Why? leave it in cockpit. I do...

7. Attach sidestays of mast to chainplates (I tried leaving the stays
attached but could not get used to the extra wire hanging around the
boat).

Sidestays are shrouds. I leave attaced and pull to bow of boat with main
halyard. Also tie to front cabin top handholds

8. Untie mast from stern holder and unpin foot of mast
9. Move mast aft and pin to mast step.
10. Attach vhf antenna and wind vane to top of mast.
11. Raise mast and attach forestay.
12. Hank on jib
13. Place boom on mast.
14. Hank on main while inserting battens and installing two sets of reef
lines.

Fold main with battens in.

15. Attach boom vang.
16. Remove rudder from cabin and place on side deck (attached to
shroud)
17. Place food cooler in cabin (this is our companionway step)
18. Launch boat after releasing the winch strap
19. Load kids (with lifejackets on)
20. Lower keel
21. Install rudder
22. Istall throw line on rail
23. Start motor and let warm up
24. Go sailing (at last).

Let me know if I missed anything!

You did not drop anything overboard?

Have a good weekend.
