The short mast is also a masthead rig. It is the same cross-section as your
mast except chopped off where the forestay connects. The boom is
considerably longer so the main sail has the same area. There are some
pictures of it on the MN potters web page

When tilted back in the "travel" position it doesn't stick out much further
than the standard mast, and clearance is less than 9 1/2 feet at the back of
the mast.
