Greetings, all
I had a Knotstick a few years back and although it worked as advertised, it
took two hands to hold it steady enough for an accurate reading above about
3 knots. Wasn't very handy. There is another product that you trail
overboard that measures speed through the drag on a spring and can be read
continuously. that was easier to use, but still no real replacement for a
paddle-wheel impeller knotmeter.

My brother-in-law says he has seen a knot-speed meter built like
>> a pitot-tube. A bent glass tube with a ball in it.>> You dip it in the
water as you zip along and it gives you accurate speed in knots. Has anyone
seen these advertised or have any comments on them???
