I am posting this copy of an email sent in response to a huge graphic
attachment that was sent via email to me. This subject has been discussed
many, many times. This time I am appreciably upset .. and I include my
response below that the clueless might, just might, get a clue ... I have
blanked the name and graphic file name to avoid inflicting public
embarassment. The next time this happens, I will not be so kind.

To <name withheld> ..

Normally, I am a good natured and easy-going person, but ...

I sincerely wish that you had not sent this uninvited graphic file to me
without first checking with me for permission.

As it is, I am currently on the road full time, driving long-haul truck.
About 3-4 times a month I am able to stop for the night at one of the few
truck stops that has cable/phone connections, so I can enjoy the rare treat
of checking my email from family & friends ...

This huge graphic file you sent cost me about $4.00 in long distance
charges, and is completely unuseable on my laptop. It also cost me a 15
minute wait while it downloaded. I am positive you do not have the
slightest idea what the truck driving lifestyle is like, but be assured
that the loss of time is probably more painful than the loss of money ...

We have tried and tried to tell people on the message boards to please
refrain from sending uninvited graphic attachments with email .. either to
an individual, or to the group. In either case, it causes extreme
inconvenience for those people who are forced to download these attachments
in the course of receiving their messages.

Please try to remember in future that this practice is exceedingly rude, as
it generates considerable hardship on those hapless folk who are force-fed
your graphics.
