I am wondering how difficult it is to raise the mast on the P-19 without
the mast raising system. I don't have my potter yet as you can probably
tell! Thanks John Spooner

The mast is very light (35 lbs.) and it is not very difficult. I do it with
my wife pulling on the main halyard run through a block at bow. I have only
one usable hand...

Install a 3/8 Harken block at the bow on the second hole from the front. Run
the main halyard thru the block to a helper. Lift mast with left hand as far
as you can while standing on the lip of the cockpit hatch. Have friend pull
main halyard until mast is upright and then walk to bow and hook the
forestay/CDI.

BTW:
I found out that the swing rudder failure to lock all the way fwd of boat is
cause of most of my Weather Helm. I put a pin in it to keep it in place and
that solved a lot of steering probs. Also the motor mount swings left to
right with motor and may be cause of motoring steerage problems. Any bod have
any ideas on these?
