<< I have several questions
about the WWP's.
1. What is the "real" time to rig and launch the P-19?>>

With very little help it takes a solid 45 minutes to rig from the moment you
stop the tow vehicle... About another 10 minutes to dunk it...

<< 2. What is the "real" weight of P-19 and trailer? (Don't concern yourself
with
gear weight).>>

The listed weight of the P19 is 1300 lbs excl motor or trailer. Unlike my
4000 # motorboat the P19 follows so easily behind my Astro Van you forget its
back there real quick...

<< 3. Does the P-19 trailer have brakes? Can they be added?>>

No Brakes needed as towing weight is less than 2k lbs... Don't know about
brakes as I use trailer for my 20' powerboat for P19 and have never had brakes
on it. There is a provision for brakes on my trailer... It really does not
need it for towing the Potter... But since I also tow my powerboat on the same
trailer maybe next year when we do New England...

<< 4. I already own a new 5hp Nissan with integral tank. Is this adequate for
the
P-19?>>

5HP is more than adequate but I would get an external tank for it... They
catch you spilling any gas they will have your rig...

<< 5. Is the P-19 really beachable? I love this feature if it is so. >>

The P 19 is beachable in FL keys bayside... Oceanside too many waves... It
does float in less than a foot of water...

<< 6. What is the length of the cockpit?>>

About 5 ft 6 in..

<<I see myself and maybe the dog doing a trip through the W. coast of FL
(10,000
Islands, then to Marathon, Bahia Honda, Boca Grande and Marquesas, all using
the Motorhome as the base and a series of day sails with occaisional
overnight, like at Boca Grande/Marquesas west of Key West, favorite spots for
us.

My wife and I do overnighters on it... But I don't think your wife, after
getting used to a 26' footer and some headroom, will find it too comfy... You
and the dog will find it easy to sail all over the place specially the shallow
FL Keys and Bahamas...

I find it more than adequate for a night or two...

<< BTW-We GMC'ers have a GMCnet which is similar to this board. We are also
all
crazy. If I can help anyone with heavy boat trailering and rigging/ long
distance towing/ Florida Keys from Miami on down and out to the Dry Tortugas /
or anything else, please feel free to email me directly. Thanks in advance and
I hope this long post makes it to the message board.>>
