I just finished reading a fascinating book, _Longitude_, by Dava Sobel. =
It tells about the man, John Harrison, who perfected the sea clock, or =
chronometer, so that it could be used to gage longitude at sea =
accurately. It also tells about the backbiting and favoritism employed =
by others seeking the "Longitude Prize." Very interesting, even for =
those of us who are arithmetically challenged. :^) I recommend it =
highly. It got me interested in studying some celestial navigation. =
Does anybody on the list use a sextant? It seems like it might be a fun =
challenge to take up.
