Hi,
I have the Wide 100. I mounted it a little different. First I
acquired a short piece of PVC pipe and cut it at an angle to fit the
hull. I ensured that at this angle the top of the pipe would be level.
Then I mounted the transducer (also level), using the transom mount, in
the pipe. I used sealant on the bottom of the tube in order to glue it
to the hull. When the sealant was cured, I filled the pipe over the
level of the transducer with mineral oil. On top of this, I melted
paraffin wax. This works great!. If you have any problems with the
transducer you can remove it and replace it easily. I tend to like
things easy to fix. Epoxying transducers works, but you won't get them
back out again.

>>A while back there was a thread re using the Huminbird fishfinder for a
depth meter. The $99 Wide 100 comes standard with a transom mount
transducer. I assume the transom mount includes some sort of a bracket.
I can't find a description of the transom mount.
Thru hull transducer is $40 more and I don't want to put a hole for a
thru hull fitting in my boat.
Did you folks attach the transom mount transducer to the inside of the
hull? What is a transom mount?
