I also chose the Saturn bulkhead compass for about $65. It is one of the few
that can handle the 20 degree or so inclination of the bulkhead on the P-19.
It is also a very handsome piece of equipment and has an inclinometer built
in. It has built in red backlighting for night use.

Like Eric, I mounted it high enough so that you can still use the port
bulkhead as a backrest. A hole saw did a quick and neat job of cutting the
hole, and I saved the cutout just in case I ever want to remove the compass
and patch the hole.

I bought and returned the hand held Iris by Platismo before buying the Saturn.
At about $90 from West Marine I didnt think it was comparable at all. It
didn't have lighting, although I think there is a more expensive model ($100
or $120) that does. Most of all, I didn't care for the mounting bracket. I
couldn't find a place to mount it where I thought wouldn't get knocked off. I
was really hoping I could, because then I could also use it on my racing
dinghies by buying extra brackets.
