I sometimes sail on some local reservoirs - they've banned all gasoline
engines, 2 strokes and 4 strokes alike.

There were some rumblings a while back in the CA State legislature about
banning the SALE of two strokes at some point early in the next millenia, I
don't think it constrained the use of those alreay existing in a statewide
scope. The pattern of limiting use of two strokes seems to be on a
body-of-water by body-of-water basis for now.

Its been banned at Tahoe. AFAIK nowhere else. I expect in the next 20 years
or so we'll see more 2-stroke bans... but i suspect you'll be ok in Fargo
for a while :)
