I have six-foot lengths of flexible plastic tubing on my shrouds. They
come pre-slit and you can buy them for about two bucks each at Boat/US.
I don't remember which diameter I chose.

My turnbuckle covers are foot-long PVC tubes with a removable cap that
is slit for the shroud to run through it.
