mounting Wide 100

I know from reading this list that several of you have and advocate the Wide
100 Fishfinder as an economical and (reasonably) accurate depth sounder.
Now that my boat is here, and I look at the Wide 100 in the store, I'm not
too keen on mounting their big clunky mounting bracket anywhere, much less
where it should be for convenient viewing! How have others solved this
problem? Directions to pictures or drawings especially appreciated.

BTW, we actually got it in the water for the first time yesterday. No wind,
but we checked everything out and motored up through Portland and back. Was
great to be back on the water. Can hardly wait for wind, some sun, and
maybe even blue skies. (I shouldn't complain, at least it wasn't raining!)
