This message is likely to be of interest only to those local to the SF Bay
Area.

Friday's San Jose Mercury, page B1 has an article announcing the arrival of
two tall ships to Redwood City Harbor. The ships are the "Hawaiian Cheiftain"
and the "Lady Washington".

If everything the article says is correct, they ships will be staging "mock
battles" this weekend and will offering tours to school groups (how can I pass
as a 5th grader.....?). They're scheduled to stay through Mar. 27. The article
doesn't say where the ships are going next, but my guess would be to another
point on the Bay (the tall ships "regatta" doesn't start until this summer) so
we may have the company of these ships for a while.

So...... It looks like those of us in the Bay Area have plenty of maritime
points of interest for the time being. The Navy ships in the Estuary to visit
tomorrow and it might be fun to be out in the South Bay when the Tall Ships
move on (on the 27th.?)
I'll try and find out more on their schedule and pass that on.
