The _Lady Washington_ has a nice home page at <http://www.ladywashington.org/>.

A couple of years ago, the _Lady Washington_ was anchored in the harbor at
Redwood City, not far from the ramp where I launched _Manatee_, which was
gunter-rigged at the time. Motorsailing back from an excursion up Redwood
Creek, I decided to take a closer look at the ship, and I circled around
her, admiring the miles of rope - all in perfect order. There were crew on
deck.

Since I was headed for the ramp, I lowered my jib and uncleated the main
halyard to lower the main. But the yard would not come down; the halyard
was fouled by the lazy jack. With some difficulty, I managed to get the
sail down by pulling on the leach. I avoided looking at the crew on the
Lady Washington as I motored away to the launch ramp.
