Yesterday, I became a P15 owner again after almost 15 years since I sold =
my first Potter. I bought the boat at Stockdale Marine in Sacramento, =
CA. It's an '87 with galvanized tilt trailer, Evinrude 2hp motor, bow =
pulpit, fabric cushions, and as near as I can tell, the sails look like =
new. It seems to be in good shape but needs a good cleaning. =
Unfortunately, the previous owner must have parked the boat outside, =
because all of the wood trim is gray and split and will have to be =
replaced. Needless to say, the topside gelcoat is oxidized and needs =
some TLC. I've looked in the West Marine catalog and there are too many =
brands of waxes and cleaners. I would appreciate any recommendations =
for restoring gel coat. Also, has anyone ever replaced the rub rail? =
It might clean up nicely with some Simple Green and elbow grease, but I =
am curious if it is replaceable. Thanks to those who answered my =
previous post about used boat questions. It's great to be back!=20
