Hi gang, aren't ya glad to see spring, finally the sun is staying up where it
belongs. I went out back and lifted the tarp covering Top Banana yesterday,
the smell of moldy canvas and unpolished fiberglass was a whiff of summer.
(If they could bottle that smell West Marine could go into the cologne
business) Going to pull it out to the garage next day off and start playing
around and getting it ready for the summer. Will be Top Banana's first taste
of Tennessee waters. Saw an ad in 'Sail' this month for a tiller lock from
Tillerman, page 117, looks like a good idea if the lines don't take up too
much cockpit space. Does anyone use such a thing? What do you think?
And are there any wanna be cruisers out there? The wife and I have succumbed
to "THE DREAM", buying a 35 footer and just sailing off somewhere for an
undefined period of time, following the likes of Herb Payson, Jim Moore, and
the Pardeys.
Thanks in advance for any help!
