Lionel,
When you got your furler, was it already cut to length or did you have to
cut it to fit? Would you mind sending me the dimensions of the extrusion?
Of the genoa's luff from ring to ring? I ordered the furler from Sailrite
and the forestay from West marine and plan to alter the genoa with a kit
from sail rite. Did you alter your jib as well? Are you pleased with the
new set up? Sorry for all of the questions.

To answer your last question first: I am very pleased with the new set-up. 2-I
did not alter the jib. Reefing the genoa is good enough for me. 3-The furler
came cut to length with a new forestay and a turnbuckle at the
bottom inside the furler drum. The only adjustment I made was to cut down
some of the extrusion: I wanted to bring the furler top fitting down to
clear
the jib halyard pulley but in the end I had to remove it anyway.
4-I will send you the measurement ASAP

How easy is it to slide forward and aft when you roll up the genoa? Do you have
to loosen the hose clamp to slide it and then retighten it to keep ii n the new
position? Approximately how far forward and aft do you have to move it to
accomodate the full genoa vs the reefed genoa?

And am I correct that you run the genoa sheets from the clew to the block on
the hose clamp, then to a fairlead at the front of the cockpit gunwale, and
finally to a cam cleat?

All I need is a 5/16 wrench to loosen the hose clamp, slide it and retighten
it. I move it as far forward as
it goes (about 1 foot and a half) when I reef but my main concern is to get the
full genoa at its best.
If you have another look at my web page you will see you are correct to assume
the genoa sheet goes
from the clew to the block on the hose clamp to another block in the shroud pad-
eye and back to the original cam-cleat.
I also like Christopher Chung solution since it is much simpler but I feel I
have better control on the sheets this way.
