attachment is meant to slide into the slot or track in the back of the
mast, but it just doesn't fit at all. Tried WD40; still no go. Tried
forcing it; just scarred up the soft aluminum in the track. Tried
taking the swivel off of the boom in order to relieve any torquing
forces that might have been binding the thing up; still no good. My
calibrated eyeball tells me that the slider piece is actually larger
than the slot; it looks like the slider is nearly 1/4 inch in diameter,
while the slot is only about 3/16. I finally just lashed the thing into
the big relief slot area after wedging it down into the start of the
slot: it was a very calm day and I just wanted to get the boat wet, try
the engine, etc...
Please tell me this isn't the way this is designed to go, just wedged?
I did trailer this boat a long way; is it possible that somehow the slot
got squeezed closed? - this doesn't seem likely, but it's all I can
guess.
Help!
