I haven't seen a day in Lubbock with less than 10 mph. I usually reef in
winds of 20 mph or more. I don't sail if wind advisories are issued by
NOAA. I carry a VHF portable that scans the weather channel and alerts one
for warnings. I have two reef points on the main and a CDI unit on the jib.
The potter is docile compared to the Coronado 15 I used to have with 160ft2
of sail.
