Ah yes, the foam. Well I lucked out in this instance. The previous owner of my
boat had an enormous amount of yard work done to the boat before she decided
she didn't want the boat anymore. One of the things they did was remove
the foam from below the seats and replace it with removable blocks that
velcro into the the entire back 1/4 of the space below the cockpit.

While shimmy-ing under the seats, looking at the old marks where the
foam was, I've wondered how people went under with that stuff in there.
Seams like it would be right in your face! Take your claustrophobia
medicine ...
