After several bottom finding incidents on the Potomac, I found an excuse
to buy a cheap fish-finder/depth alarm. I have been looking at the
archives and decided to try mounting the transducer inside the hull as
suggested by members of the list. Went to the local Home Depot and
found some plumbing parts and think I have a good scheme for mounting
the transducer. I have put together some photos of the scheme and
thought some of the list members might be interested. Photos and
commentary are at:

It might be interesting to those of you who have, or are planning to
have, a cheap sonar on your boats. I put it up mostly for comments and
suggestions before I get busy and actually glue the thing into my 19'.

I tried out the Humminbird 100SX with the transducer temporarily mounted
on the transom and I am really amazed at how much technology $99 can buy
these days. FM.
