A neighbor has a Catalina 22 with a Harken small furler vertically to furl
his main. He added a tab to back of masthead and hung furler top off it. He
had drum attached about 3 inched behind the gooseneck. Worked pretty good
to. He could furl both sails at a moments notice.

Escape sailboats have furling mains that rotate mast to furl. Works great.
