Dale Place had the right answer; to simplify even more you
can move the sail feeding slot further down on the mast and
close up the old one (re: Joe McWilliams suggestion), then
the gooseneck is on the same side as the slugs and you need
only one sail stop. This also helps if you keep your main
flaked on the boom.
