Dear Potter gang.
This last Monday I sold P-15 1198 to Michael Schadt of Junction City
Oregon. I had fun showing him how to rig the boat and answering his
questions. I was surprised how much knowledge I had amassed about the boat,
I am sure I over loaded him, but I promised I would answer any questions he
has in the future and reminded him about the potter list. He is going to be
sailing it mostly on lakes near his house, he was telling me there are some
lakes near by that are so pristine that you can see all the way to the
bottom, of course no gas engines are allowed, but he was going to be putting
an electric motor on the boat, so there won't be any problems. I think the
potter will be perfect for the camping/sailing he and his wife want to do.
I was a bit sorry to see it go, but knew it was going to a good home.
I have enjoyed this list very much, even though I have mostly been a lurker.
I have spent a lot of time reading about the various adventures that others
have had and I love how candid everyone has been, so many have shared "screw
up" stories that I bet you'd never hear about on a list with people that own
larger more expensive boats. I guess we are a bunch of very secure people
who like to learn from our mistakes, and believe me, some of the stories
have made me die laughing and some have made me really think twice about
what I was doing while on the boat.
Anyhow, may you all have safe & fun sailing adventures and keep on
contributing those stories; it's the best part about this list.
