Greetings,

I have recently joined the potter's rank with my purchase of a 1969 14'
"C" type potter. This is one of the
fiberglass models which were made in England. Similar as it is to its
American cousins it does weigh a
bit more -( 575 lbs I am told including the 55 lb center board). One of
my first purchases will be a small
motor and I would like to hear any pros and cons as to engine size. I
would also like to hear opinions if the fixed bracket works well enough,
or whether one of those movable spring types would be a wise investment.

I am a very new Potter owner. So new I am still attempting to convince
my wife what a great deal
the boat was! ($1,300 for the boat in good condition for its age [it
came with original 1969 sails and cabin cushions
which are not in bad shape after thirty years!] and a very sorry and sad
trailer).

I have greatly enjoyed reading the emails for a few days now on this
list with all their information, and I feel very lucky to have come upon
such a great group. I would also be interested in any suggestions for
fixing up and outfitting this particular model, as I believe it is
pretty much the way it came out of the factory in 69.

Best Regards,
