Great idea MAC!

A detachable bowsprit anchored aft at hatch opening with a C-clamp and
f'ward with short wire from bowsprit end to towing eye! Does it have to
functional and/or part of original equipment? Next question, what is the
competition in the 20' class - Cal 20's? other?

I'm up for some Potter 19's (much lighter/faster?) and HMS 18's entering
the "Day on the Bay" Regatta, (reverse start race-we go first!)) on
August 29th (Sunday) at Santa Cruz, CA. I know one of the club
officers and can push for a PHRF of 320, if we all have "bowsprits"!
The course is a standard Olympic triangular course with up-wind start.
In 1987, I started first with 10 minutes lead, which was the only
concession I was given! Because their computer program did not include
Potters or HMS's I did not get calculated after the race, even though I
finished in the middle of the pack!
Fancy prizes were awarded too! Dang!

With a showing of two or more boats this year, we might earn a spot on
the S/Cruz Club/PHRF list! I'll provide the BBQ, o/nite accomodations
and place for a strategy meeting at my place near Moss Landing on Sat.
nite before the Sunday race!

Anyone interested?
