Folks!

Please notice that the request for information was for the mounting of a
Honda 2 on a P-15. There were several replies from folks with P-19's. This
is an entirely different scenario. When someone with a P-15 asks for advice,
if you are a P-19 owner, please be certain that your advice fits the other
boat and vice-versa. Michele's solution is correct and her problem is
indicative of the P-15. A short shaft Honda 2 will not tilt up with the
stock motor mount. A lifting mount will solve the problem as well as adding
several other conveniences.

A P-15 will not sail well with the weight of a Honda 5. A Honda 2 will push
the boat at hull speed in all but the most adverse conditions. A long shaft
will work on a P-19. On a P-15 a long shaft will drag in the water most, if
not all, the time.

New owner's can get confused with all the different suggestions that come up
with a simple request for help. If you're not sure, please leave the
question for someone who has had experience with the particular situation, be
it motors, sails, modifications or techniques of sailing.

I hope I'm not sounding confrontational. I just feel sorry for some who ask
a perfectly innocent question and get a multitude of answers. They probably
don't know who to listen to.

If you want to get some good ideas for your craft, attend the group sails.
Particularly the Lake Tahoe sail which is coming up soon--August 13!
