I had a bit of trouble getting my keel properly set on the pin. It
got stuck when I put it in. I had a pal wrestle with it inside the
cabin. I jumped in the water, grabbed the gunwales amidships with my
hands and got my feet under the keel, jiggling it this way and that
and generally exerting as much upward force as the awkward position
would allow. This got past the hang-up in less than a minute. I
didn't have to put my head in the water. I'm six feet tall and had
inches to spare. It might be difficult for folks smaller than, say, 5-
8.

Do it in shallow water, in case you drop it. I think it can fall
through the slot.
