FYI,
I just took a jib from a Wayfarer that is 42 sq. foot and made it fit my
P-15. The sail was to long so I cut the cable and the sail down to fit
the forstay. The sail is now 128" at the luff. The foot is 84" and the
leech is now 126", that makes for a 37 square foot jib. A bit smaller
than the standard genoa for a P-15. But I gotta tell you my P-15 now
points like it never did before. We were on Higgins Lake, MI Saturday
in 15 mph of wind, what a difference. I can see the old ( 27sq foot) jib
being used only when the winds are really howling.
I did rig a small block to the side rail, back about mid way to get the
proper angle, 45 degrees on the sheet. Hooray!
