My GPS is a Garmin III. I went to their web page and a table showed that
this model requires no sofware change or any user intervention whatsoever
to handle the new change. That was very comforting. Some of their models
showed the need to do a "cold boot" after the rollover, some while holding
down one or two specific keys. Still others needed a software infusion to
fix the problems (which were available).

Cant speak for other models like lorain, marantz, Even my Tripmate GPS.
But most manufactureres have info available (of course).
