My 2 stroke has about 20hrs on it max. and doesn't like sudden changes
either. I'm still running on break in fuel mix so I chalk part of it up to
that. Most of it though is the motor bogging down until the boat comes up
to speed.

I've found the boat and motor seem to cruise best with the throttle set
about 1/4" above the start position index mark. More throttle just seems to
increase engine vibration (I really need to get a backing plate installed)
and hull pounding with no increase in speed. Is this your experience also?
