It doesn't feel like 'binding' at all. It turns very smoothly. I can
turn the base of the furler say 20 turns, and when let go, it will
rapidly unwind. This is with the furling line removed completely and
the the furler disconnected. It is snowing hard here in Denver today,
or I would
go out and take it apart right now. When I get it apart I'll let you
know
what is inside.
