The ring for the inboard end is mounted 17" above the base of the mast.
Seems to be about the right place, works OK for all sails.

My pole is an adjustable 6'-12', and I 'd say you're about right at using
lengths in the region of 7' - 9' for the 150% genoa. I've never marked or
measured mine, just sort of set it up by eye depending on point of sail. [I
try to keep my "damned old engineer" nature restricted to procuring,
preparing, and provisioning and then go right brain when sailing. Mostly
unsuccessfully.]

I wish I had an 8'-14', as the 6/12 is a foot or two short -- and not quite
strong enough -- for the spinnaker.
