I've never seen a female PL-259 that attaches to a cable. What we usually
use is a double ended female adapter (looks like a threaded barel about 3
inches long) and male ends on all the cables. You should be able to find
that adapter at any shop that carries RF cables (maybe even Radio Shack).

Have you considered using a chasis mount female connector and mount it on
the cabin? Seems like another alternative worth considering.
