I am inclined to agree with Harry on the usefulness of the bow pulpit on
the P-15... It has come in handy when holding the boat for a
few minutes prior to shoving off, and coming up to dock, on
many occasions, the pulpit has proved an easy grab handle for
family members, as they help bring the boat alongside prior to
climbing aboard.
When going forward to anchor, or to change from the jib to the
drifter the pulpit has kept me and the sail from going in the water
on a couple of occasions... If you have to crawl up on the bow
for any reason, but especially if the wind is blowing pretty hard, I think
you will be glad of the pulpit rail.
best wishes,
Bruce
