Also the further you go inside SF Bay. I don't have a tidebook at hand, but
I'm guessing that there could be a 10 to 12 ft swing at Redwood City harbor
on Dec. 22. I think it's called the bathtub effect.

I won't tell you about the time I tied the bow to the floating dock and the
stern to a piling and left the boat overnight at Pete's Harbor. Or how the
tide went out in the middle of the night, leaving the stern several feet in
the air, until the stern cleat tore loose. Or what the liveaboard at a
nearby slip said when she had to go out in the middle of the night to
resecure Manatee to the dock. No, I won't tell anyone about that. That
would be too embarrassing.
