Not necessarily, Ken. Mine don't slide as easily as I'd like.
I'm going to have to do some cleaning up and re-oiling, but
my hatch sticks when I push it back, starting about half the
way to being fully opened up. My teak rails are slightly
gouged by the tight fit.
