Dennis,

The concrete blocks appear to be factory installed on the middle aged
Potters. I've removed mine. You will find, if you remove them, that the
centerboard pivot is fiberglassed over.

I think that having 65 lbs. on the transom will have a pretty negative
effect on the trim of the boat. Check out Jerry Barrilleaux's comments
on the Potter Yachter website.
