milk cartons or inner tubes, please ;^)

OK, Bill. I'm using 8 "noodles" (kid's flotation toys) from K-Mart.
The Orange one is 2 5/8" in diameter and 61" long. There is a 1/2"
hole down the middle. By my calculations, each noodle provides 10 lbs
of displacement lift. 8 of them provide 80 lbs lift in the bow, as I
put them under the floor in the bilge. I am hoping that will be enuf
to prevent a nose-down attitude if swamped.

I'd welcome comments from anyone with experience or concrete (bad
choice of words?) ideas.

BTW - there are no inner tubes or milk cartons in the bow.
