I also have a compass (Ritchie Voyager) mounted on a thin
hardwood board I got in a hardware store that fits in the
slot for the hatch. I first had it mounted to the sliding
cabin roof but broke the bracket there and it was not that
easy to see. Down there it is just right and easy to take in
and out. Sorry for the delay in answering
