Re: [WWP] Set up poll

Good question Curt! There are many factors and I have found that GOOD shortcuts
(not the kind where you say "I just don't do that because it delays things.")

Here's mine two ways (because I have two different ways I setup):

1) Marina stored with the mast up (most of my sails are this way):
Single Hand (always for setup purposes).
P19.
20 minutes consistantly to "splash the bow."

2) Trailer to remote site (made two trips with her so far so I have only dropped
and raised the mast five times):
Single Hand (my best time is when I have help raising the mast-that is ALL the
help I ever get).
P19 (didn't think that would change did you? ;-) ).
50 minutes (it happens,... probably twice--had help raising the mast applying
the right amount of pressure for the forward mast pin and forestay/CDI is time
consuming with block and tackle by oneself), 1 hour 15 minutes (average
"unrushed time" as I will futz a bit with things), 4 hours 35 minutes (it
happened once,... when I unwrapped her from the factory ;-) ).

My time is getting better,...

There are some shortcuts, when you invest in some $16 quick release pins for:
the forestay, block and tackle, boom vang, you can even do it for the rear
traveler blocks. This way you can leave all lines running on the boom and
reduce your rigging time,... things like that help, just don't undo something
that will "compromise" a good quality rigging!

Subject: [WWP] Set up poll

I would be interested in an HONEST poll of how long it takes
everyone
to get their boats rigged and in the water. So, here goes:

How long does it take you to set up your Potter (This is the time
from
the moment you hit the ramp parking lot, until you're on your
way)?

In answering, please state the following:

Single-handed or with crew helping
19 or 15.

I'll start. I'm a 19, I set it up all by myself (literally no
help with
rigging, launching. The family meets me in another car when I'm
ready),
and my best time is 1 hour and 20 minutes. I have a feeling that
this
is slow as heck. What do you think?
